RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield Police Department officers will be carrying the Flame of Hope for the Law Enforcement Torch Run in Ridgefield on June 10.

Look for officers running down Main Street and in the center of town from 9-9:30 a.m. They will be accompanied by Special Olympians and their families and friends.

According to Special Olympics International, the Flame of Hope symbolizes the Special Olympics goal: shining a light on the talents and abilities of people with intellectual disabilities.

This torch is carried by Special Olympics athletes and supporters ahead of Opening Ceremony at Special Olympics state, national, regional and World Games.

Come out and cheer on the athletes who will be competing at the Summer Games that weekend.
