RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Capt. Jeff Kreitz was named the Town of Ridgefield Employee of the Year for 2015.
He was honored for his hard work and dedication to the community and the department.
Kreitz supervises Ridgefield's School Resource Officer Program, DARE, the department's accreditation process, public information and crime prevention.
He is in charge of all of Ridgefield's training programs and is a TASER and Arrest and Control Instructor.
Also, he re-energized Ridgefield's Citizen Police Academy this year, conducting the first session of the academy in several years.
This year, concerned that residents were worried about a string of burglaries and larcenies in a neighborhood, he organized a group of officers to walk the neighborhood to listen and talk to residents.
