RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- A 69-year-old woman who got lost in the woods recently at Bennett’s Pond State Park in Ridgefield was found by rescuers due to an extra strong battery on her cellphone, according to the Ridgefield Press.
The lost woman called police for help at 3:15 p.m. Dec. 12 and was found at 6:45 p.m. as officers electronically tracked her cellphone signal, police Capt. Jeffery Kreitz told the Ridgefield Press.
The woman, located in the Ives Court area, was so deep in the woods, she couldn't hear sirens or the rescue workers, the Press said.
