Report: New Jersey Man Accused Of Killing Ridgefield Resident Rejects Deal

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The alleged killer of a Ridgefield resident turned down a plea offer Wednesday and will go to trial next year, according to a story in the Newark Star-Ledger.

Brian Schiavetti was a 2009 graduate of Ridgefield High School and a student at Villanova University.

Ernest Williams Jr., 22, rejected a deal that called for him to serve a 25-year prison term in return for pleading guilty to the July 2012 slaying of Brian Schiavetti, 21, the newspaper reported.

Schiavetti was shot multiple times July 22, 2012, in what prosecutors say was a targeted drug-related killing, the newspaper reported.
