Norwalk Pedestrian, 65, Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver Identified By Police

NORWALK, Conn. — The man who was killed by a hit-and-run driver late Friday in Norwalk has been identified as a 65-year-old local man, police said Sunday.

Archie Hilliard, 65, lived on Leonard Street in Norwalk, about 2 miles from where he was found in the road with life-threatening injuries, police said.

No arrests have been made in the case.

At 9:14 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a car accident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Lowe Street, police said.

Arriving officers found a man, later identified as Hilliard, lying in the street suffering from life-threatening injuries, police said.

The vehicle that had struck Hilliard fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.

Hilliard was transported to Norwalk Hospital, where he died of his injuries, police said.

Officers later located the suspect vehicle at an address on Ely Avenue,police said.

Accident Investigator Wasilewski is actively investigating the incident with the assistance of the Crime Scene Unit.

Police released no additional information because it is an ongoing investigation.
