Early Monday, Oct. 9, a car flipped onto its side in a one-car crash on Route 34, knocked over two pedestrian yield signs and hit a tree, the Courier said.
The driver fled the scene, and officers unsuccessfully searched with the help of a police K-9, the Monroe Courier said. Police are applying for an arrest warrant the case.
At 2 a.m. Oct. 14, police arrested Maria Ramirez, 26, of West Haven, who left the scene of a one-vehicle accident on Route 34, police told the Monroe Courier.
After her car hit a telephone pole, Ramirez fled but officers tracked her to her home, the Monroe Courier said.
She was charged with evading responsibility, failure to maintain lane and traveling too fast for conditions, the Courier said.
