RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – A Go Fund Me page has so far raised over $13,000 for a Ridgefield family after the elderly mother died and her son was seriously injured in a condo fire last Thursday.

Sandy Reyes died Sunday evening and her sons Joe and Raphael Reyes suffered injuries after a fire broke out at the two-story condo at 15 Cook Close in the Casagmo condominium complex.

According to the Go Fund Me page, Joe Reyes suffered second- and third-degree burns while trying to rescue his mother and is now at the Bridgeport Hospital Burn Unit.

The Reyes family suffered personal loss from this tragedy and are now faced with medical bills and funeral expenses as well, the Go Fund Me page says.

The family is originally from Katonah, N.Y.
