Danbury Police Department To Hire Certified Police Officers

DANBURY, Conn. -- The Danbury Police Department will be accepting applications for certified police officers later this month.

The application for Connecticut Lateral Entry Police Officers will be open from Jan. 22 to Feb. 12. Applicants must pass a battery of tests, including a written exam and a physical. Qualified women and minorities are encouraged to apply.

In order to qualify, applicants must: be a current Connecticut P.O.S.T. Certified Police Officer; have a high school diploma or equivalent; have a valid driver's license; be at least 21 years old by the application closing date; be a U.S. citizen; have 20/50 vision in each eye, correctable to 20/20 in each eye, and normal hearing without the use of any hearing aid or device; have no felony, class A or class B misdemeanor convictions.

Applications will be accepted through PoliceApp for a $25 fee. The written exam will be held on Feb. 17.
