Danbury Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Two Girls

DANBURY, Conn. -- Danbury police have arrested a 43-year-old man on multiple counts of sexual assault and other charges, authorities said.

The arrest stemmed from a complaint the Danbury Police Department received on June 28 involving the sexual abuse of two female minors on separate occasions, according to police.

The suspect, identified as Luis Fernando Pesantez, was an  acquaintance of the victims, police said.

Detectives from the Special Victims Unit investigated, and were granted a warrant for Pesantez’s arrest by Danbury Superior Court on Nov. 9, according to police.

Pesantez was taken into custody by SVU detectives on Thursday. He has been charged with sexual assault in the first degree, sexual assault in the second degree, sexual assault in the third degree and two counts each of risk of injury to a minor and risk of injury, police said.

The defendant is being held at the Danbury Police Department on $120,000 bond, according to police.
