Animal control told the Weston Forum that the woman went outside her Overbrook Lane home Friday to help one of her dogs, which was being attacked by a coyote, when the coyote turned on her. It started to attack her, but her two dogs chased it off before she was injured, the Weston Forum reported.

Later that night, a woman on Good Hill Road found a coyote attacking her dog on her porch and chased it off, the Weston Forum reported.

Over the weekend, a woman on Petchen Lane reported that a dog outside in a fenced-in area had disappeared, and animal control suspected a coyote could be responsible, the Weston Forum reported.

Weston isn't the only community that's been hit by coyote incidents recently. Last weekend, the Norwalk River Valley Trail temporarily closed down its Wilton Loop after an encounter between a dog and coyote.

Weston Animal Control Officer Mark Harper told the Weston Forum that the attacks are concerning, and that he plans to meet with town officials on bringing in help. He urged residents to keep pets inside or supervised in fenced-in areas, the Weston Forum reported.

If you spot a coyote, do not feed them. Attempt to frighten them away by making noise or waving your arms, and contact Weston Animal Control at 203-222-2642.
