70-Year-Old Wilton Man Charged With Trying To Drown Elderly Woman In Pool

WILTON, Conn. — A 70-year-old Wilton man was arrested after police said he tried to drown an elderly woman in a swimming pool, the Wilton Bulletin reported.

Michael Ruddy was charged with of assault on an elderly person older than 60, disorderly conduct, second-degree assault and unlawful restraint in the incident on Saturday, Sept. 17, the Bulletin said.

The victim broke away and called police from a neighbor’s phone, the Bulletin said.

Police did not disclose the address or the relationship between the victim and Ruddy.
