Thomas Black, 81, Of Ridgefield, Army Veteran

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Thomas Black of Ridgefield died Tuesday, Dec. 16. He was 81.

Black was born March 8, 1933, to Jimmie Black and Katie Walker Black in Pelion, S.C. He served in the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed with Textron as an inspector for 30 years. He was a disciple of Mount Aery Baptist Church, the men’s choir, men’s ministry and member of Flaming Knights Motorcycle Club.

Black is survived by his wife, Priscilla Black of Ridgefield; son, Dwayne T. Black of China; daughter, Cher-Renee A. Black of Ridgefield; brother, J.C. B lack of Oklahoma; sisters, Myrtis Black of Bridgeport and Magaline Black of Washington, D.C.; and several nephews and nieces.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Dec. 23, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Mount Aery Baptist Church, 73 Frank St., Bridgeport. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Anthony L. Bennett officiating. Interment at State Veteran's Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown.
