RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Samuel J.C. Townsend Jr., of Ridgefield died Monday, April 15. He was 71.
Townsend was born in Bridgeport Aug. 15, 1941, son of Samuel J.C. and Sarah (Slawson) Townsend.
He returned to Connecticut six years ago after running his own successful software consulting business for more than 30 years in Northern Virginia.
He attended Choate Rosemary Hall School of Wallingford, received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Yale University, and his master’s degree in business from Boston University.
Townsend is survived by two daughters, Jennifer E. Variale of Brookfield and Kathryn T. Carmichael (Mark) of Danbury; sister, Lee Townsend of West Hartford; and two grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, April 27, at 11:30 a.m. at the Ethan Allen Inn in Danbury.
