RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Rita Jean (Supercynski) Ravenna of Ridgefield died Sunday, Aug. 3. She was 53.
Ravenna was born June 7, 1961, in Wakefield, Mich., to Charles and Abigail (Sendek) Supercynski. She grew up in Ironwood, Mich., attended Gogebic Community College, and attained her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at Michigan Technological University. A few years after graduation, she earned her professional engineering license and worked for a number of years in her field.
She and her family lived in Livonia, Mich.; Hudson, Ohio; Zurich, Switzerland; and Ridgefield. She worked at Zurich International School and Ridgefield Academy.
Ravenna is survived by her husband, John; and children, Nicholas and Maggie.
A memorial service for family and close friends will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield. A celebration of her life will be held June 7, 2015.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a scholarship fund in Ravenna’s honor for underprivileged children at Ridgefield Academy, 223 W. Mountain Road, Ridgefield, CT, 06877.
