RIDGEFIELD, Conn. Tony Ralph Cerreta of Ridgefield died suddenly Aug. 14. He was 56.
Born Aug. 9, 1956, in Stamford, he was the son of Thomas and Rosalind Andrea-Cerreta. He was a member of the first graduating class of Westhill High School in Stamford in 1974. Cerreta also graduated from Broward Community College in Davie, Fla.
He led the Danbury operations for Winter Brothers, a waste management company that is used by the town. His family said his life was centered around his children and his love for his family and friends, and he had a zest for life.
Cerreta is survived by five children, Anthony, Damon, Bianca, Francesca and Andrea; a brother, Tom (Donna); and two nephews and two nieces. He was predeceased by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home in Stamford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Stamford. Burial will follow at St John's Cemetery in Darien.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a fund for Cerreta's children's education to Anthony Thomas Cerreta, c/o Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT 06902.
