Ridea R. Ligi, 94, Longtime Ridgefield Resident

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridea R. Ligi, 94, of Ridgefield, wife of the late Navio Ligi and mother of the late Ridgefield Police Chief Richard J. Ligi, died on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Laurel Ridge Health Care Center in Ridgefield.

Ligi was born in Meford, Mass. on March 18, 1923, a daughter of the late Augustino and Enrica (Giombetti) Fuligni. She attended Medford schools and was employed with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

A resident of Ridgefield since 1945, Ligi was employed with the Union Trust Company, was a member of Founders Hall and St. Mary’s Parish.

She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, games shows and most especially time shared with her family.

Ligi is survived by her daughter-in-law; Dale (Tulipani) Ligi; granddaughter, Rebecca Braskamp and her husband Case; sister in law, Joyce Ligi; brother, Augustino Fuligni; three sisters, Connie Carpenito and her husband Ed, Norma Spezzaferri and Gloria Russo and several nieces and nephews.

Ligi was also predeceased by a grandson Rick Ligi and her brother-in-law Dante Ligi, both of Ridgefield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 13, at 1:15 p.m. in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
