Leslie Nogi Luminati, 72, Of Ridgefield, Speech Pathologist

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Leslie Nogi Luminati, a Ridgefield resident for 37 years, died Saturday, Oct. 18. She was 72.

Luminati was born Aug. 15, 1942, in Elizabeth, N.J., to Alfred Nogi and Vida Evans Nogi. She attended Allegheny College in Allegheny, Pa. She went on to earn a master's degree from Keane University in New Jersey and served as a certified speech pathologist in public schools in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Connecticut.

She was a veteran volunteer at the Keeler Tavern Museum and a driver for Meals-on-Wheels. Many residents also knew her from Ridgefield Orthopedic as a medical transcriptionist.

Luminati is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Stephen; a grandson; daughter, Gwynne Luminati Wittmann of Sandy Hook; and brother, Stephen Nogi of Marietta, Ga.

Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 24, from noon until the service at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield. Services will follow at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Maple Shade Cemetery, Ridgefield, after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Siamese Cat Rescue Center, the Keeler Tavern Preservation Society, or the Vida Evans Nogi Memorial Scholarship Fund.
