RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - John P. Ireland Sr. of Ridgefield, formerly of Monroe and New Canaan, died Friday, Sept. 19. He was 60.
Ireland was born in Norwalk, to Eugene and Anne (Schilcher) Ireland. He served in the U.S. Navy as an electronics mechanic. He had been employed at ASML and the former Perkin Elmer. He was a member of Harmony Lodge 67 in New Canaan.
Ireland is survived by his children, John P. Ireland Jr., Laurel Ann Ireland and Kathleen Ireland, all of Stratford; brothers, Charles Ireland (Diane) of North Carolina, Gene Ireland of North Carolina and Gary Ireland (Dawn) of Norwalk; former spouse and friend, Jeanne Ireland of Stratford; aunt, Bette (David) Walkden of Guilford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at Harmony Lodge 67, 231 Main St., New Canaan, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harmony Lodge 67.
