RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Frank E. McNamara of Ridgefield and formerly of Prospect died Saturday, Feb. 1. He was 76.
McNamara was born Oct. 15, 1937, in Danbury, son of Frank P. and Elizabeth Humphries McNamara. He was a member of PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) and the National Ski Patrol, and was past president of NAVA Ski Club of Waterbury.
He married Simone Adam in February 1961 and they lived in Prospect most of their lives before moving to Ridgefield.
In 1984, he and Simone began their ski touring business, Prospect Ski Tours Inc. He was owner of McNamara Apartments in Connecticut.
McNamara is survived by his children, Patrick and Michael McNamara of Ridgefield and their wives, Paula Kelly McNamara and Stephanie McNamara; five grandchildren; brother, Paul S. (Dewey) McNamara of Ridgefield; sister, Mary M. Warlop of Tiverton, R.I.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Kane Funeral Home , 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 10:15 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield. Interment will take place at the direction of the family.
