RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- On Sept. 11, the Connecticut Department of Transportation will begin construction activity on the bridge replacement on Route 35, also known as Danbury Road in Ridgefield.
The construction site is near the south entrance of Fox Hill Condominiums.
The first phase of the project is expected to last from Sept. 11 through approximately the middle of November, with about two months of work.
During the initial phase of this project, a temporary roadway and bridge will be constructed to maintain traffic flow in both directions while the existing superstructure is replaced.
Work is scheduled to start on the replacement of the initial superstructure in mid-November and is scheduled to be completed by May 26, 2017.
During the initial phase of this project, expect delays in this area of Danbury Road due to one lane alternating traffic between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
After the initial phase is complete, traffic will flow in both directions at all times throughout the remainder of the project.
