Tractor-Trailer Fire Blocks Lane, Causes Traffic Backup On I-84 In Newtown

original story: NEWTOWN, Conn. — I-84 westbound is backed up for nearly 7 miles Friday morning due to a tractor-trailer fire and crash in Newtown, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

The crash is between Exits 10 and 9 and the right lane is closed, DOT said. The traffic backup is from Exit 15 to the crash scene.

The crash was reported at 7:28 a.m. Friday. DOT said it would take a couple of hours to clear the scene.
