RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – Ridgefield’s 25th annual Rid Litter Days will be held this Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26.

Members of the Caudatowa Garden Club, the Highway and Public Works Department, Board of Selectmen, the Parks & Recreation Department, Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce, and the Conservation Commission are asking Ridgefield residents to help clear the town of all debris remaining from the winter months.

Each participant is asked to put on a gloves and vest, which are available Parks & Recreation and the Chamber of Commerce.

Town trucks will collect the bags of litter on Monday, April 27, from the following locations.

  • Farmingville Elementary School, 324 Farmingville Road, Ridgefield.
  • East Ridge Middle School, 10 E. Ridge Road, Ridgefield.
  • Ridgefield High School, 700 N. Salem Road.
  • Fox Hill Lake pick-up area.

Hazardous waste such as paint and batteries, and large appliances will not be accepted.

However, town residents can bring such items to the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day, to be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16.

That event will be at the Newtown Public Works Garage, 4 Turkey Hill, Newtown.
