RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- After a long string of snow and ice storms and another snowstorm on the way for Thursday, Feb. 13, Ridgefield is looking at a delay in salt deliveries.
Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi said that International Salt, one of Connecticut's largest salt vendors, is limiting deliveries to non-government customers in order to provide as much as possible to towns and cities. Deliveries will still continue to the town but, at a much slower pace than normal.
Town trucks will continue to salt and plow the roads during the coming storm, but the limited salt supply will affect how much salt that will be used on each road.
Residents are being asked to take extra care if traveling during the storm by limiting speed and keeping a safe distance between cars.
