RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- A judge in Hartford's U.S. District Court ordered dismissal of a lawsuit made by an ex Ridgefield couple against the landlord of a rundown property next to their house claiming their house value was reduced by $200,000, according to the Ridgefield Press.
Plaintiffs Chad and Kirsten Cohen, who lived at 30-32 Catoonah Street, were not successful in creating "a genuine issue" to show defendant was negligent, the Ridgefield Press reported.
Their attorney will appeal the decision, the Ridgefield Press said.
The rundown house is owned by the company that owns the shopping center whose anchor is CVS, but leased to the post office, said the Ridgefield Press.
The rundown house will be condemned and taken down to make way for Catoonah Street and post office parking, the Ridgefield Press reported.
