RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Ridgefield's downtown area is steeped in heaps of snow, with some drifts already higher than the 10 to 12 inches expected before the storm ends Thursday evening.

Photo Credit: Donna ChristopherThe entire state remains under a Winter Storm Warning until 6 p.m., with heavy snow in the forecast. Most businesses, offices, schools and stores are closed. And the state Department of Transportation says the highways and roadways are snow-covered and slow-moving.
The Connecticut State Police is urging drivers to exercise caution and slow down.
