In the accident on Oct. 20, 2013, Alexander Lee, 22, was attempting to make a left turn at the intersection of Route 302 and Old Hawleyville Road in Bethel. Weston cyclist Thomas Steinert-Threlkeld, 59, was also at the intersection on his bicycle and collided with the the rear passenger side of the vehicle driven by Lee.
A second vehicle turned onto Route 302 from Old Hawleyville and pinned Steinert-Threlkeld underneath the vehicle. Steinert-Threkeld was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lee faces up to five years each for the charges of misconduct with a motor vehicle and tampering with physical evidence as well as an additional 10 years for evading responsibility leading to death, newstimes.com said.
Lee is also facing additional time for an unrelated narcotics charge in connection with an arrest in January 2012.
Steinert-Threlkeld was a cycling enthusiast who created and founded Baseline magazine. He was also a former business columnist and technology reporter for The Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in Texas.
