RIDGEFIELD, Conn. — A dog that bit a 9-year-old girl and sent her to the hospital for several days last September has been banished from Ridgefield, according to the Ridgefield Press .
“The dog will be relocated, but will not be destroyed,” First Selectman Rudy Marconi told the Ridgefield Press.
The town and the dog's owners agreed that the dog, Reeves, a mixed breed border collie, will be transferred to the care of a Tolland resident, the Press said. The girl's family was involved in the negotiations to spare the dog's life, the Press said.
