The series brings speakers and events to the Playhouse that are aimed at discussing the dangers of substance abuse and other high-risk behaviors with youth. Recent presentations included Giancarlo Esposito of “Breaking Bad” and former Mets superstar Dwight "Doc" Gooden, who shared his story of addiction and recovery last spring.

The Ridgefield Rotary Club awarded The Ridgefield Playhouse a $1,000 grant for the Get Real Series in May.

“The Ridgefield Playhouse is grateful for The Rotary Club of Ridgefield’s grant, which will help cover production costs for upcoming presentations including ‘The Anonymous People’ and ‘Behind the Orange Curtain’ slated for fall 2014,” said Suzanne Brennan, chief development officer for The Ridgefield Playhouse.
