RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Reynolds & Rowella, LLP recently donated a Day of Caring to make campus improvements at Green Chimneys in Brewster, N.Y.
Volunteers from Reynolds & Rowella, LLP worked outdoors on the Green Chimneys campus to paint fencing around a climbing tower.
They also applied fresh mulch to paths through a wildlife area – home to injured birds who are unable to survive on their own.
Reynolds & Rowella volunteers offered vocational guidance to residents of high school age.
They addressed such topics as career options, job interview techniques and other life skills required by these young people once they leave the Green Chimneys environment.
Forty-three staff and partners participated in the event.
Reynolds & Rowella efforts on behalf of Green Chimneys represents 258 donated hours.
“We are so grateful to the staff of Reynolds & Rowella for their day of service,” says Kristin Dionne, director of fund development for Green Chimneys.
“Their energy and enthusiasm was apparent. Not only did they make a visible difference to our campus but their contribution in coaching our students in job interviewing skills during several vocational education classes was invaluable," Dionne said.
Green Chimneys is a residential treatment center for young people who benefit from a structured, supportive setting and contact with nature-based therapeutic programs where they can interact with over 300 animals.
