Harris grew up in Philadelphia and remembers going to a number of Frank Sinatra films at a one-screen theater with his mother as a child, the Prospector says.

He said the Prospector is “a great gift and resource to the community,” and added in a statement that he was excited to being able to work with the new theater.

The opening date of the new four-screen theater is still uncertain, but a soft open will be announced to theater members in the coming weeks.

Ridgefield resident Valerie Jensen, who had worked for the past five years to bring a theater to her hometown, said the theater will show everything from first-run movies to cult classics and documentaries on the fully digital projectors, she said.

In the meantime, the theater is still getting fixed up, but the four-screen theater is nearly ready for customers.

Of the four screens, two include stadium seating with over 100 seats. Another with just under 100 seats has a wide flat area in front of the screen that Jensen said might be used for corporate or personal events. The fourth is a small 16-seater that could be used for late-run movies or early screenings.

She is proud of the extensive renovations to the former bank building. “I wanted this to have the old, classic, romantic feel,” she said.
