The ribbon cutting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. outside City Hall.
“Heritage Plaza serves as a center point in Danbury where various cultural communities can celebrate their heritage. We use this space to continue honoring Danbury’s history and to recognize the many communities that have built, and continue to strengthen our multi-cultural city,” said Mayor Mark Boughton.
The Heritage Walk and City Hall Landscaping improvement project included the creation of a plaza that displays monuments celebrating Danbury’s cultural communities. Eight additional footings are in place for future monuments to join the reinstalled Lebanese and Italian monuments in the main plaza.
Three more footings have been added in the additional plaza extension along Deer Hill Avenue. Cultural organizations are invited to sponsor a monument celebrating their history to be installed in the plaza.
