After the long, cold and snowy winter, Ridgefielders turned out in droves to enjoy the good weather, sun, blossoms and smell of BBQ.

Ridgefield was honored to host the prestigious Kansas City Barbecue Society and New England Barbecue Society Competitions, which was hold in conjunction with the annual downtown Ridgefield Gone Country festival. More than 30 teams competed to be the judges' favorite.

The barbecue made for a great addition to the Gone Country festival, which has been downtown Ridgefield tradition for years.

Along with the country music and barbecue on Main Street, residents enjoyed the great weather as spring arrived. Stores put out items for sale for pedestrians to peruse.

The aroma of barbecued meat, sounds of country music played live on the porch of beautiful Launsbery house and cold beer made the experience all the better.
