All items in the sale are donated so that all proceeds can be directed to ongoing improvements to the Carriage Barn, designed and built 100 years ago by architect Cass Gilbert.

“This fall’s tag sale proceeds will help us defray the cost of adding an efficient heating and air conditioning unit to the main floor of the building,” said Hilary Micalizzi, board vice president and chair of the museum’s programs committee.

“People who donate items or buy something at the sale can know that they’re really contributing to the museum’s preservation and education goals, because soon the Carriage Barn will be usable year-round for things like hands-on activities during school tours and a display of our antique tools and machinery.” The tag sale features reasonably priced furniture, household gear and decorative items. Donations may be brought to the museum on Oct. 22 and 23 between noon and 3 p.m. No large upholstered furniture, beds, electronics, exercise equipment or large television cabinets will be accepted.

Admission to the tag sale is free. For more information, visit the Keeler Tavern Museum website here, e-mail info@keelertavernmuseum.org or call 203-240-6166.
