"End Works 2017" is a collaboration between the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut and Women's Center of Greater Danbury.

For the project, artists are asked to submit two-dimensional works along with statements on domestic violence and sexual assault. The artwork will then be exhibited in an art series, with selected pieces slated for auction to benefit the Women's Center.

"Art has the ability to give voice to and increase awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault," said Cultural Alliance Executive Director Lisa Scails.

"The goal of this collaboration is to provide an opportunity for artists to show work that will engage and move the community forward in a meaningful discussion. We anticipate a spectrum of responses that will illuminate the truth about these issues, raise questions, and give hope."

The project will offer a way to express the "reality of domestic violence and sexual assault in a unique and creative manner," said Women's Center President and CEO Pat Zachman.

Artists 18 and older who are based in Connecticut and are members of the Cultural Alliance may submit an entry.
