Ridgefield Boy Scout Troop Picks Up, Recycles Christmas Trees

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- No woods, no problem. Ridgefield residents who have no place to discard their fresh Christmas trees can arrange for a pickup up by local Boy Scouts.

Leave your Christmas tree by the curb for pickup. But first you have to call ahead to the Ridgefield Boy Scouts for the free service.

Troop 116 will pick them up and on Jan. 7 and take them to the Ridgefield Transfer Station for recycling into mulch.The mulch will be used in the spring on Main Street.
