Cool off at the Springdale Post Office, where Kona Ice will be handing out free cups of shaved ice to celebrate its fourth annual National “Chill Out” Day.

Anyone who stops by the island-inspired truck between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, can have a free cup — and a complementary lei to wear while listening to some groovy tropical tunes.

With cups in hand, tired taxpayers can ride the “Flavorwave,” selecting from one or more of the flavors to pour over their fluffy snow. Some of the most popular include Tiger’s Blood, Groovy Grape, Island Rush, Blue Raspberry and Stawberry’d Treasure, but there are many more to choose from and the combinations are endless.

“Each and every Kona Ice Truck is committed to giving back to its community,” said owner Kat Zezima. “I never thought in a thousand years I’d enjoy Tax Day as much as I do now with Kona Ice! We enjoy brightening peoples’ days and that’s why we decide to participate year after year.”

Look for the Kona Ice Truck just outside the post office at 24 Camp Avenue.

Their motto for the day? “No Taxation Without Relaxation!”
