On April 22, the Bridgeport Police Department broadcast a wanted person/vehicle message to area police departments.

The suspect was wanted for assaulting a police officer in their city. Norwalk's Police Officer Wright began observing I-95 traffic for the suspect vehicle, which he spotted a short time later.

Wright began to follow the vehicle, providing updates while awaiting the arrival of additional officers.

A motor vehicle stop was initiated once additional resources had arrived, however, the suspect refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.

The pursuit ended at Exit 4 in Greenwich and the suspect was taken into custody.

Police Chief Thomas Kulhawik commended Wright for his keen observation and calm and professional demeanor throughout the entire incident which led to the arrest of a dangerous felon who had assaulted a fellow officer.
