Monday, Dec. 10 Special Board of Selectmen Meeting: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Board of Selectmen will meet to discuss an environmental report regarding the Schlumberger property. Town Hall, 400 Main St. Ridgefield.
Board of Education Meeting: 7:30 p.m. On the agenda will be a vote on the new technology policies for the school district and discussions of the 2012-13 school calendar updates. Town Hall Annex, 66 Prospect St. Ridgefield.
Tuesday, Dec. 11 Film Screening and Discussion of Hot Coffee: 7:15 to 9 p.m. Join us for a film screening of ‘Hot Coffee’ followed by a discussion led by Ridgefield attorney Larry Reilly. The HBO documentary ‘Hot Coffee’ is an eye-opening exposé of the famous McDonald’s “hot coffee” lawsuit and related tort reform issues. Reilly has worked as a trial lawyer in Fairfield County for the past 23 years. Ridgefield Library, 21 Governor St. Ridgefield.
Wednesday, Dec. 12 Town Meeting and Board of Selectmen: 7:30 p.m. There will be a special town meeting to discuss the purchase of land on Old Stagecoach Road for use as open space. Following the town meeting vote the Board of Selectmen will hold their regular meeting. Town Hall,400 Main St. Ridgefield.
Thursday, Dec. 13 Talking Tolkien A Lecture and Discussion: 7 to 8 p.m. Many people are eager to see the movie “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” by “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson, but the Ridgefield Library encourages you and your family to read J.R.R. Tolkien’s book first, then enjoy several Hobbit-related programs at the Library. Teens and adults can enjoy a lecture and discussion about "The Hobbit" and its place in Tolkien’s wider body of work.
