What To Do In And Around Ridgefield This Weekend

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – It's Easter weekend and many places will be closed for the holiday. Here are just some of the events and places you can go in the Ridgefield and Danbury area.

Friday, March 29

Extreme Draw On!: 2 p.m. Visitors of all ages are invited to team with artist Jamison Odone in creating a mural inspired by your favorite Maurice Sendak characters. Admission $10 adults, $5 seniors and students. Free for members, pre-K-12 teachers and children 18 and under. Every day from until May 4. The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum,  258 Main St, Ridgefield.

Saturday, March 30

Easter Train: 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Children ages 2 and older can takes rides through the rail yard on a vintage train, enjoy a visit with the Easter Bunny in his special railroad car and get special gifts. There will also be coloring stations and other activities for children. Admission is $9 per child, children younger than 2 are free. Danbury Railway Museum, 120 White St., Danbury.

Sunday, March 31

Easter Sunday: Public libraries and other community centers in Danbury and Ridgefield are closed for the holiday. But some family spots are still open for families looking for something to do. The Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
