The Irish Rovers Hit The Stage At The Ridgefield Playhouse

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Celtic music icons The Irish Rovers are bringing their rousing and rambunctious style to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, Dec. 5.

The holiday show, part of the Palm Bay International World Beat series, starts at 8 p.m.

The celebration will honor 50 Years of Rovers’ music and fans will be treated to hit songs like “The Unicorn,” “Whiskey on a Sunday,” and “Wasn’t That a Party.” Traditional favorites like “Christmas in Killarney” “Oh, Holy Night,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” are also planned.

The evening begins with a wine tasting at 7:15 p.m. in the theater’s lobby.

Tom Tom’s Restaurant (417 Main St., Ridgefield) is offering dinner patrons a free glass of wine when tickets to the show are presented.

The show is being sponsored by 90.7fm WFUV.

The band line-up consists of Fred Graham (bodhran), Ian Millar (guitar/bass), Geoffrey Kelly (whistle and flute), Wilcil McDowell, (accordion), Sean O’Driscoll (banjo/mandolin/box), Morris Crum (keyboards), George Millar (guitar), and Gerry O’Connor (fiddle).
