There were lots of goodies to choose from, ranging from fresh vegetables, pies, jarred tomato sauces, wine, and much more. If you arrive early, breakfast food is made fresh to order, and sometimes there is even live music.

“Every Saturday, when the market is open, I love to get an early start with some breakfast with my daughter and then we pick out some fresh vegetables and some tomato sauce to save for our Sunday night family dinner. We invite the whole family over for dinner and like to make our food with the freshest ingredients we can find,” said Joan Martin.

Martin also said they like to pick up an apple pie from Oronoque Farms, because that is her daughter’s favorite. “Little Jenny just can’t get enough of the apple pie,” she said.

The Drunk Alpaca, Stone Garden Farm, East Village Farm, The Little Dog Laughed, and Oronoque Farm were among the many vendors out in force.

In addition to vegetables, Stone Garden Farm even had a fridge full of fresh meats, ranging from pork to chicken, and beef.

“We always try to bring a bunch of fresh meat and a variety of it too,” said Stacia Monahan, owner of Stone Garden Farm.

The indoor farmers market is located at 100 Canal St., Shelton. During the winter, the market is open on the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
