Rundgren's career has produced a diverse range of recordings, both as a solo artist and as a member of the band Utopia. In the early 1970s, he was dubbed “Rock’s New Wünderkind” after albums "Something/Anything" and "A Wizard, A True Star" catapulted him into the limelight.
Known as a musical genius both as a performer and songwriter, Rundgren helped pioneer progressive rock. He sells out every time he returns to the Ridgefield Playhouse. He tours regularly with Ringo Star and, as a producer, has worked on albums with Patti Smith, Cheap Trick, Psychedelic Furs, Meatloaf, XTC, Grand Funk Railroad and Hall & Oates.
