RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra is hosting a fundraiser dinner and dance Saturday, March 19 at the Lounsbury House.
The fundraiser will feature the RSO’s acclaimed Music Director Gerald (Jerry) Steichen and his dance band playing everything from cocktail music to the popular music of today.
On deck for the dinner-dance are Morgan Kelsey on keyboard, Kevin Callaghan on bass, Dennis Arcano on traps and Ed Xiques on sax. Steichen is at home in multiple genres and shares his talents on the international scene in concert halls, the theater and on Broadway. Steichen portrayed Manny the Accompanist in the Tony Award-winning “Master Class” on Broadway. As a conductor, he has been music director for the RSO since 2008 and has toured nationally as the associate conductor with “The Phantom of the Opera,” “The Secret Garden” and “Peter Pan.” He was principal conductor of “CATS” in New York for two years.
In addition to live music, the evening will feature an open wine bar, a dinner and dessert buffet by Gallo Ristorante, plus the chance to take home one-of-a-kind silent and live auction treasures including vacation stays, catered dinners and wine tastings, Adam Broderick Salon & Spa “Give Glow” package for two, jewelry from Purple Frog, Results RedZone sessions, and a collection of limited edition watches. Emmy Award-winning journalist and author Ira Joe Fisher will host.
