The evening starts at 6:30 p.m. with wine and cheese reception with painter Carmelo Blandino, courtesy of Galerie Sono followed by the memorial dedication and Ridgefield resident Tommy Weeks’ Funky Dawgs Brass Band at 7:30 p.m. Preservation Hall Jazz Band takes the stage at 8:30 p.m.

This event is part of the No. 109 Cheese & Wine “Evening of Art, Wine and Jazz” series.

Rosa was an important member of Ridgefield society up until her death in 2014, and the Playhouse, along with Rosa’s daughter Elizabeth Rosa Beresford, have established a Preservation Fund in Rosa’s memory, which will be used to keep the Playhouse, housed in a building that dates back to 1909 with the auditorium added in 1939, and its facility preserved and in good condition for years to come.

Piccolo's Pizza & Pasta Jazzeria, at 24 Prospect St., Ridgefield, will pour a complimentary glass of wine with dinner the night of this show when ticket is presented.

Preservation Hall Jazz Band (PHJB) has not only preserved New Orleans’s jazz legacy but has popularized it again for a whole new generation by performing with The Foo Fighters, My Morning Jacket, Trombone Shorty and other popular bands. PHJB was formed in 1961 by Allan and Sandra Jaffe and took their name from Preservation Hall, the music venue in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter.

Tickets are $50 for orchestra and $45 for mezzanine/balcony. To purchase tickets, click here or call the box office at 203-438-5795.

The Ridgefield Playhouse is at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield.
