Born in Pennsylvania, Borsos was a longtime resident of the Berkeley Heights, his obituary reads. He was a police officer in Berkeley Heights for 26 years before retiring in 1994 and was also a longtime volunteer with the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Fire Department, according to his obituary.
Before going into law enforcement, Borsos served in the Air Force, being honorably discharged in 1966, his obituary reads. In his free time, Borsos enjoyed playing golf, fishing and taking his children to stock car races, according to his obituary.
"So many memories from childhood through adulthood," one mourner said. "The best of them being the times you caught my friends and I acting suspiciously. You told us we made your job interesting, but you made lifelong impacts on all of us, as you did on all who knew you. I will carry those memories with me always."
He is survived by his wife Mary, his son Michael, his brother Brian and his grandchildren, Katelyn, Lauren, Daniel and Ashley, his obituary reads. He was predeceased by his son Richard, and his siblings Gary and Sandy, according to his obituary.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial in Berkeley Heights. He will be buried at his family's plot in Pennsylvania.
