RIDGEFIELD, Conn. - Blues guitarist Matt Schofield will perform a concert and give a master class June 10 at the Ridgefield Playhouse.
Guitar & Bass Magazine named Schofield one of the top 10 British blues guitarists of all time. Schofield is the first guitarist in the British Blues Awards Hall of Fame. He released his fifth studio album "Far As I Can See" last year.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and his blues guitar master class is from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Class attendees are encouraged to bring a guitar but not an amp. Attendees can practice along or take notes.
Special guest The Bobby Paltauf Band will open the concert. Fronted by a 15-year-old guitar prodigy, the band recently completed its debut album "Lost and Found."
Ticket holders can get a complimentary beer in the Playhouse lobby at 6:45 p.m. for happy hour.
