RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Playhouse will host a special performance to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jefferson Airplane, the Grateful Dead and "The San Francisco Sound."
The concert is on the exact date of the formation of Jefferson Airplane – Aug. 13 – at 8 p.m.
Join Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kantner, David Freiberg, Grammy-nominated singer Cathy Richardson, Tom Constanten and other special guests, as Jefferson Starship performs the music of Jefferson Airplane from some of its most legendary shows, such as Monterey, Woodstock, Altamont and more.
Jefferson Airplane’s signature songs – “White Rabbit,” “Jane” and “Somebody To Love” are all classic rock mainstays played by media sponsor i95fm the home of rock and roll.

Also performing is the critically acclaimed Jazz Is Dead, reforming after a 10-year hiatus. Jeff Pevar, guitarist for Phil Lesh, and Alphonso Johnson, bassist for Further, Bobby & the Midnights and Weather Report, will lead the group famous for instrumental interpretations of the Grateful Dead’s repertoire.
