Have A Heart Event Returns To Double H Farm, Ridgefield

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – The biennial Have a Heart benefit for Kids in Crisis will kick off at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at Double H Farm, 11 Old Stagecoach Rd. The farm, donated by Hunter and Jeannie Harrison, has served as a good spot for the Barnyard Promenade that brings in money for the services provided to Southwest Connecticut by Kids in Crisis.

One of the programs funded is TeenTalk at Ridgefield High School. Headlining the promenade this year will be comedienne Christine O’Leary, serving as master of ceremonies. Other highlights will include dinner, music, and dancing.

Kids in Crisis provides emergency shelter, crisis counseling, and community educational programs, 24 hours a day. The organization helps families with children of all ages to deal with major issues like domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health, economic difficulties, and much more.

Since 1978, when Kids in Crisis was founded, 124,000 Connecticut children and families have been helped, including 6,000 just last year.
