Greenwich International Film Festival Announces Full Lineup

GREENWICH, Conn. -- A full slate of films, including opening and closing night offerings, have been announced by the Greenwich International Film Festival, which will run from June 9 to 12.

GIFF opens June 9 with screenings of "Little Boxes" and the Connecticut premiere of "The Anthropologist."

The film presentations will be followed by an Opening Night Party at the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich. 

This star-studded event, sponsored by Betteridge, will include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, awards, and a live concert by John Popper of Blues Traveler and Dar Williams. 

Actress Kristin Davis will present the award for Best Social Impact Film. Samsung will host a VR Lounge.

On Sunday, June 12, the festival will close with screenings of "Claire in Motion" and "Since the Bombing of Pam Am Flight 103." 

The Festival’s Narrative Features include the Connecticut premieres of "Lonely Boys" and "My King" (Mon Roi).

Additional Narrative Features include "Complete Unknown," "The Duel," "Equals," and more. 

Documentary Features include the Connecticut premieres of "Author: The JT LeRoy Story," and "Learning to See," as well as the east coast premieres of "Hit it Hard," and "Tony Robbins: I Am Not Your Guru."

There are other documentary features, narrative shorts and documentary shorts. 

The festival will also present a retrospective on documentary filmmaker Ondi Timoner on Friday, June 10, at the Cole Auditorium at Greenwich Library. Timoner has the rare distinction of winning the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival twice

GIFF is expanding into Stamford by partnering with the Avon Theatre Film Center for a June 10 screening of "Robert Klein Still Can't Stop his Leg." The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Marshall Fine and actor/comedian Robert Klein. 

Additionally, GIFF will host a Jewish Film Series on Thursday, June 9, at the Boys & Girls Club in Greenwich, featuring the world premiere of "Germans & Jews," the East Coast Premiere of "Moon in the 12th House," and the Connecticut premiere of "Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You."
