English Beat Will Bring Punk-Reggae Party To Ridgefield Playhouse

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Influential "two tone" ska band The English Beat will perform  at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ridgefield Playhouse.

The English band mixes ska, punk, rock, pop, reggae and soul for an upbeat sound about peace, love, harmony and politics, according to a press release. They will perform ska-revival versions of "Tears of A Clown," "Can't Get Used to Losing You" and "I'll Take You There," as well as their own songs, such as fan favorites "Mirror in the Bathroom," "Too Nice to Talk To" and "I Confess."

Tigers' Den, 23 Catoonah St., will give a complimentary draft beer or house wine with entrée to patrons with concert tickets. Visit after the show and receive 15 percent off your bill.
